What happens if a patriotic defense of the national borders is transformed into an implacable desire to avenge dead troops and restore Constitutional goverment by any means necessary? Whose homes and offices are safe now, whose children’s schools and whose wife’s charity lunches are safe now, not just in D.C., but in Houston and Minneapolis and everywhere else that federal officials and their families reside?
And that’s the problem with First Order thinking. A wargame exercise ends when time is called but in real life, the referee is the first to die. After that, the killing isn’t over until the blood runs ankle deep and everyone is too exhausted to continue.
Thank goodness this is all just an intellectual problem, purely theoretical and no cause for alarm at all. Because the consequences of error are formidable.

Yea, a Canadian friend of mine told me that the biggest factor in Little Castro changing his mind, was that the RBC ripped him a new one! When the peasants saw what was happening to the truckers, they got scared and there was a run on the banks where people were closing their accounts. Just proves that despite the dictatorship that is shaping up there, the peasants can still revolt and have an affect.

I mean, what? everyone walks in to their bank branch and says, “give me cash.” In the modern world, a modern bank would be out of cash in 15 minutes. Then what do you do? Accept a check? Who would cash it?
Where does your employer deposit your pay?
If your employers writes you a check, where do you cash it?
How do you pay your mortgage and car payment and heat and water and taxes? Write a check? Drawn on what bank?
This situation played out in Britain with Nigel Farage. Nigel had a happy ending because he is a big fish with a big megaphone, but he points to thousands of people who have been “debanked” who did not have a happy ending.

Correct. My friend pointed out that several banks suddenly went “offline” right after the Canadian Finance Minister announced the freezing of the protesters assets. This article gives a truer picture that it was more of a fear by RBC, than reality.
