Un-Krakened

Do you know the one thing I always hated about Joe Soucheray’s Garage Logic?

For a show that constantly railed on about the need for individual responsibility, he rattled on an awful lot about “the mystery” and its attendant “mysterians”.

It struck me as a little incongruous – demanding responsibility from everyone else, but blaming the things that vexed “logicians” on some, well, mysterious force above and beyond anyone’s control.

It’s an oddly “progressive” trait – ascribing fault to systems and groups rather than individuals. And not in a good way.

The urge to roll things up in to all-encompassing narratives, and to try to “solve” them with all-encompassing proposals – “The New Deal”, Obamacare, The Great Society, and on and on – has been part of “progressivism”‘s DNA since there was a word for it (other than “Leninism”).

And while I give Trump the credit he’s due, he’s brought out a trait among way too many Republicans to do exactly the same.

Make no mistake – our election system has problems, problems big enough to warrant bringing in the Department of Justice under consent decrees no less drastic than those that governed southern elections after the Civil Rights Act was passed.

And state laws that make corruption almost impossible to identify, much less charge and prosecute, must become an electoral scarlet letter among those who care about the American Experiment.

But let’s stop all this jabbering about “Krakens”. Put up or shut up.

Because the real problem isn’t even hiding. It’s in plain sight, and it’s largely legal.

Two of them, really:

What happened in 2020 is something more fundamental and profound. What happened in 2020 is cultural and systemic, and sadly, generally legal. Until Republicans, and more importantly Trump supporters, understand what happened to them this year, it will happen again.

Two things happened in 2020. First, COVID led to a dismantling of state election integrity laws by everyone except the one body with the constitutional prerogative to change the rules of electing the president – the state legislatures.

Second, the Center for Technology and Civic Life happened.

If you are focused on goblins in the voting machines but don’t know anything about the CTCL and what they did to defeat Donald Trump, it’s time to up your game.

I’ll urge you to read the whole thing.

  1. He who counts the votes, wins. Is that so hard to understand, Mitch?

Mathematician Bobby Piton Finds More Than 500,000 Unique Last Names in
Pennsylvania: ‘Sophisticated State Actor Was Able to Optimize Desired Outcome’

How many MORE krakens are YOU going to ignore? How much more putting up do YOU need? Video evidence – check. Statistical evidence – check. Sworn affidavits – check. Accounting for millions of votes. How much and many more do YOU need to see? Just because YOU do not see the krakens, does not mean they have not been unleashed. Are YOU blinded and bamboozled by the MSM?

  2. This is really an unfortunate post. It starts with a proud declaration that Garage Logic is a mystery. This ignorance is then leveraged to hammer Trump and his supporters using a month old article that has a pretty large number of comments refuting it.

  3. jdm, Mitch probably wrote this article a month ago and it just got into the queue. At least I hope that is the explanation. Although Mitch’s latest refusal to acknowledge reality may be terminal.

  4. The difficult part of laying a trap for your opponents is waiting to spring it. Too early, they avoid it; too late, they’ve passed it. Timing is crucial and waiting is essential. Except . . .

. . . we’re Americans living in the now and we HATE waiting. My Wi-Fi is unacceptably slow. The drive-in is unbearably slow. The wait in the doctor’s office would be maddeningly slow if I went in person, so I’ll do a video chat to speed things up.

There’s no way to make January 6th come faster. If the President has a trap set, and if that’s the day the trap springs shut, then all we can do is wait. And hope he’s thought of every contingency. And pray it works. Because if it doesn’t work, if the cheaters manage to steal this election, then the long dark night takes another step closer and I’m really not looking forward to that.

    Patience. Prayer.

  5. Once again, if the fate of western civilization lay on the re-election of Donald Trump, we are screwed whether he wins or loses.

  6. Oh oh. Mitch is part of it….

There is no Dominion or machine fraud.

COVID upending the way we vote is a thing, and questions about this are worthy to ask and worthy to answer.  But if ballot and mail-in eligibility allowed for more votes this year, you really ought to contemplate if the old rules would have elected a guy who yes, squeaked by Hillary, but nonetheless never had more than about 42% public approval.  The potentiality for his defeat really isn’t inexplicable.  And most of you fellows here act as if you think his defeat is inexplicable.  You fellows aren’t living in reality.

As a matter of small d democratic / civic / electoral principles there’s no great reason for having restrictive mail in rules such that you can control for fraud.  A ballot being mailed before cutoff post date and arriving after isn’t fraud, by the way.

Also, how we doing on that martial law to redo the election?  There’s a few of you brainiacs that were pretty sure of that right?

  7. JPA & Joe Doakes:
What solution are you looking for?
Let’s suppose you & Trump are correct, and there were enough illegally counted votes to tip the scales back to Trump if they were removed.
How you going to do that? How are you going to identify which votes from Philly should not have been counted? Or where are the legal votes for Trump going to be found?
Or maybe Trump should just assume that he’s the real president and call out the army?
What is the end game here? A do-over?

  8. Western Civilization is definitely in decline and Donald Trump cannot prevent the collapse. But he might be able to stave it off a little while longer and worse, he might be the only politician in America who’s even willing to try. Every Democrat and most of the RINOs are committed to hastening the collapse so everyone will be equally destitute in the rubble.

I have no idea what the President’s end game is, but I know how Liberals will react to anything other than total capitulation so I spent the weekend before Christmas field testing my home safety equipment. Everything is now cleaned and oiled plus I stocked up on toilet paper, canned goods, medical supplies and precious metals (including brass and lead in several sizes and quantities). Physically, I’m a broken-down wreck. Mentally and materially, I’m about as ready as I can be for Liberals to start the violence.

Actually, that’s not true: I’m still looking for a replacement bug-out-bag in case I have to flee the rioting in the Twin Cities to bunk with my in-laws in small-town Wisconsin. Much easier to defend against a smaller crowd of hostiles. I’d prefer a waist belt and adjustable shoulder straps but dang, they want a lot of money for them. I’d appreciate reader recommendations.

Meanwhile, I expect Liberals to continue to sneer and preen because that’s how Liberals always act. I intend to ignore them and wait for the trap to spring shut. I fully believe there is a trap, I just don’t know what it is. And neither do they.

  9. Joe Doakes, the way that I look at it is that the US is a “New Deal” country, not particularly fiscally conservative, but socially conservative, with a good dollop of nationalism.
But the academy, the public education system, the media, the federal bureaucracies, the law profession, and big business are far to the left of the American people. We lose once in a while, and Trump was a terrible figurehead. He angered people he should not have angered.
If we take the election results as reflecting reality, Trump got more votes than any other Republican presidential candidate in history. But Joe Biden got more in the right places & overall. The only group where Trump lost vote share was among college educated men, and that group of voters is highly subject to peer pressure.
So, for now we lose the presidency. I suspect that the next four years will convince an awful lot of voters that the Dems can’t govern, that their one trick is screwing over 60% of the people to please the remaining 40%.
What anger I have is directed at Trump, for blowing it, and at American businesses, for caring more about there bottom lines than about the country. While they were making money hand over fist for the last 40 years, the Left rolled up its control of media and the academy.
I am still optimistic about America. Trump has admirable qualities as a leader, but sunny optimism is not one of them.

  10. JD, Western civilization is definitely under attack, and i decline, but it’s not the end. Western civilization is responsible for the overwhelming majority of the progress of mankind. It has suffered attacks from savages before, and not only survived but flourished…so shall it be now.

The reprobate elite believe, and are acting towards rule over a subservient, uneducated and low IQ black and brown populace, and so they shall. But they forget that the ease with which they believe they have and will live is facilitated by the very people they mean to crush. The White and Asian populations will certainly stop using their ingenuity to produce goods to make the elites at ease, but they will not stop producing. Instead, they will produce the means by which they will conquer and re-establish their authority, and with that will come another era of peace and enlightenment.

For the time being, this is the time to coalesce a tight bond among our own people; Family and friends together, and shun the degenerate hoard. It’s definitely a handicap to be surrounded by self-loathing leftists, but bugging out at the last minute isn’t a good plan. Perhaps you should be looking at real estate near your in-laws. You’ll get more money out of your house today than you will after it has been burned down, and you’ll need time to create bonds of friendship with the locals.

Above all, don’t get your dauber down. I ain’t skeered; if the lefties want chaos, I’ll be happy to show them what chaos looks like while being deployed to a background of Vivaldi and Wagner.

  11. Max, what to do? How about stand up for the integrity of the election process. How many examples of voter fraud and Dominion shenanigans do YOU require? DOJ, AG’s, GOVs, SoS’s should have been involved on election day so we do not have people like you, yes YOU, saying: oh well, yes we had fraud but let it stand. But the mere FACT that DOJ, AG’s, GOVs, SoSs were ALL complicit in this fraud says that Deep State, won. There will be NO MORE FREE elections. Remember when people talked about fate of the country being decided in smoke filled rooms, well welcome to hell buckaroo!

Listen to yourself: We lose once in a while, and Trump was a terrible figurehead. He angered people he should not have angered.
If we take the election results as reflecting reality, Trump got more votes than any other Republican presidential candidate in history.
. Do you see how your logic is flawed? But Joe Biden got more in the right places & overall – by fraud. He did NOT get more votes, not overall and not in any place, not judging by the downvote shellacking demoncRats received.

What to do? This election was conducted electronically. How about going through the publicly available code and correcting the flaws. Simple enough and that alone will show that Trump won by a landslide. Fix the fucking “error”! How about we start there? BEFORE you do anything else?

And oh boy, if you think, for a second, that the next election will be different, you are as misguided as Mitch – because they will cheat. Again. And AGAIN. AND AGAIN! Better go watch the old Peanuts cartoons, I don’t think you got my Lucy and the football reference from a couple posts back.

  12. Say Kraphammer?

47% of Americans believe your merry band of shit-heels cheated to put a doddering, senile old pedophile in the oval office and a avaricious whore as his VP. That is an historic fact that your propaganda machine has ignored, but blazes white hot in the hearts of the 47%.

Good luck governing with that; I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss martial law if I were you, you miserable waste of flesh.

  13. What is the end game here? A do-over?

No. The Constitution provides a solution; let the House of Reps decide. If we’re going to salvage Democracy, and I’m not convinced we can, it has to be done within the bounds of the document we are defending.

  14. Finally, re: Soucheray.

He’s been squirting tears about the creeping rot for 20 years; it’s only gotten worse. He hasn’t left for friendlier environs yet, and he certainly has had the wherewithal, but now he is too old…so fuck him; it’s time to stfu.

  15. My wife and stepdaughter got multiple mail contacts from The Center for Voter Information. I got none. They both already registered to vote. The center calls itself a non-partisan voter registration group. Riiiiight! I thought at the time they were targeting possible Dem voters. That’s why I was off the list. Mitch is right. It’s all legal. Doesn’t make it healthy for the republic. Game the system and you don’t need conspiracies to tamper with voting machines.

  16. It’s all legal Is it? I am sure they are getting some kind of government assistance and tax breaks. If they are NOT non-partisan, they are getting the money via fraud, ie illegally. Am I correct in that understanding?

  18. golf;
Yup! Same thing at my house. My wife and sister-in-law, who lived with us for a few years and my deceased mother-in-law, all received those mailings almost on a weekly basis, yet I never received one. I know that my mother-in-law was a registered Democrat, but my wife and sister-in-law swear that they have never declared a party affiliation, yet, they both voted for the wicked witch of the east.

  19. Trump & the Republicans in the house & senate have a legal right to challenge the electoral results from any state. Since what they are doing is legal, and has precedent, I have no problem with that.
I assume that the attempt will fail (though I prefer that it succeed), and that all of Trump’s efforts to contest the election results is meant to put an asterisk next to Biden’s win & prepare the ground for the 2022 & 2024 elections. More power to him, Biden is set to be a weak president as it is. The weaker he is, the better for the country.

  20. My analogy for the election, flawed as it might be: the Dems were the geeks going to Vegas with a card counting scheme. They won big, didn’t get spotted. The House (American people) got taken. Trump talked big, bet big, still lost.

  21. Two things:

    1) The 2020 election was Trump v. Trump and Trump lost. Biden never opened his mouth and Trump couldn’t shut his.

    2) The Democrats stole the election fair and square.

My friend complain, “What do you mean they stole it fair and square when 100,000 ballots are dumped on the counting table and not ONE is for Trump, that’s fraud.”

No, that’s a damned well organized get out the mail-in ballots from senile old ladies drive.

So, here is the question. Where were the 100,000 mail-in ballots from senile old ladies for Trump and the Republicans.

YOU KNEW THEY WOULD DO THIS!!!

    Another thing.

My township refused to open its polls so everyone had to vote by mail. As I ticked off my ballot choices, I came to the section on school board members and judges.

Uh…..schools are critically important. So are judges. So I went to our county GOP web page. Ya think I could find a sample ballot?

    Ya think they vetted candidates?

Ya think conservatives bitch about what is happening in the school and courts and with the mail-in ballots from senile old ladies?

So why can’t the county GOP produce a simple sample ballot?

What am I sending money to these clowns for?

Vetting candidates and getting them elected is their ONLY job. If they can’t do it then yes they are going to get beat and sure enough they will probably think some great mysterious force stole the election from them.

  22. Whereas my analogy is Jimmy Stewart’s character in the film, Fool’s Parade: a flawed man, yes, but one being cheated out of a reward he’s honestly earned, and who is therefore willing to blow up the cheaters, himself, everybody else in the bank and half the city block if the cheaters won’t hand it over.

  23. I think the correct analogy is Joe Peschi in Casino.

The reprobates are playing with casino markers; they’re not risking shit and have no intention of ever paying because they know they won’t lose. They throw votes they don’t like back at the machine for a do-over; slap anyone who dares speak out.

Trump is the Don Rickles security boss. He sees what’s going on, and worse, so does everyone else in the place…he calls the casino manager; the GOP comes down and says “give the reprobates another $10k, but that’s it.”

  24. I just realized that Seth Abramson has ~875k twitter followers, and Lin Wood has ~863k twitter followers.

I now appreciate why the web’s vast access to sound legal knowledge has been such a miserable failure. You don’t want to know law, but want your inane legal beliefs validated.

  25. I’ve never heard of Seth Abramson or Lynn Wood.
Who is it that wants their inane legal beliefs validated? The people who wanted Trump thrown out of office for violating the “emoluments clause”? The jackwagons that wanted Flynn in prison for doing the same thing Biden’s transition team is doing now?

  26. ^ Swiftee, jpa, smh, Joe Doakes want their inane beliefs validated. Those are the fraud theories they believe in.

  27. The real 2020 election fraud is people seeking money or political points trying to persuade you of the fiction that the election was rigged.

Having a psycho for President no longer seems that funny…

  28. The real 2020 election fraud is people seeking money or political points trying to persuade you of the fiction that the election was rigged

Nope. The real election fraud is the number of votes generated by blue-city corruption machines. Same as always.

  29. tch probably wrote this article a month ago and it just got into the queue.

The article has been in my “things to look at file” for a while. Larry Elder spoke about it last week.

Mitch’s latest refusal to acknowledge reality may be terminal.

I acknowledge the reality I see.

Don’t agree with it? Convince me.

  30. Trump elicited more anger, more contempt, more disgust, and more votes among Democrats than any Republican leader in modern times.

Trump lost in a stunning landslide for an incumbent. He got a lower share of the popular vote than Romney did in 2012 and barely more than McCain did in 2008 — worst such beating since 1932!

Trump isn’t a tragic figure. He had a unique opportunity to bring the most positive change to the country — he squandered it all from day one, focusing on demanding adulation and settling scores, and never tried to do the job he was elected to do. It didn’t have to be that way.

The Trump administration was a tour of vengeance and I can’t wait for it to end.

  31. ^ Mitch, the PJmedia / J Christian Adams article you linked to is very decent. What it argues is that urban machine GOTV efforts (by themselves) are not fraud, much as one might have instinct to call it that. And that’s right, its not fraud. So be convinced by the article you posted.

  32. The rabbit hole is so deep and wide at this point I’m not sure how we will ever climb out.

Belief and concern are one thing. Evidence is another. Thankfully, the courts have consistently required evidence and proof of these outrageous, overused claims, and found none. But in the fairyland of Republican thought, disenfranchisement of (primarily Democratic) voters is king. Look for similar efforts in the future wherever Republicans have been installed at the local and state levels.

  33. I acknowledge the reality I see.

So in your reality™ fraud is to be expected, taken for granted and celebrated?

    1) The 2020 election was Trump v. Trump and Trump lost. Biden never opened his mouth and Trump couldn’t shut his.

And yet Trump got more votes – EVER! Based on your #2, even if Trump did shut his mouth and get even MORE votes, he STILL would have lost. And that is OK with you it seems.

You guys are two of a pair… pair of boobs.

  34. Lol, what a deranged fool. Demonstrate to us some evidence that Trump got more votes. You’d be in the position of having to convince some of the saner conservatives that read Mitch’s board as well. I’ll put words in Mitch’s mouth: he wouldn’t agree that “Trump got more votes.”

    You retarded JPA?

  35. The right to seek redress for the damaging publication of an untruth is the check and balance to the privilege of freedom of speech. It’s not about “shutting down” right wing media — it’s about applying the same rules to them that apply to everybody else. You defame someone, you harm them by publishing a lie, you own the consequences.

  36. Yeah whatever Joe. That’s not piercing insight to understand that people might marvel at the stupidity of stupid people. So you have “called” that. I’m not a liberal though.

Joe, who got more votes, Biden or Trump?

  37. I always hated test questions where the correct answer was:

“Cannot be determined from the information provided.”

  38. That’s not the correct answer in this case. There are 50 secretary’s of states offices that have furnished results, so the answer can be and is known.

You’re doing some BS demurral here to wuss out on arguing the Trump side such that its impossible to argue because of its ambiguity and outright fantasy.

  39. “That’s not piercing insight to understand that people might marvel at the stupidity of stupid people.”

And then, without the slightest trace of irony…

“Joe, who got more votes, Biden or Trump?”

Marvel doesn’t describe what I feel….I stand gobsmacked. How can these people believe they will survive the coming storm?

  40. Lin Wood has ~863k twitter followers.

I now appreciate why the web’s vast access to sound legal knowledge has been such a miserable failure. You don’t want to know law, but want your inane legal beliefs validated.

Tell that to CNN and Twitter, dimwit.

  41. Cheese whiz troll burbled: “Mathematics seems lost on some folks around here…”

    lol. Just staaaaahp.

  42. There are FIVE fingers, John, because The Party says so. Just as there are FIVE lights, Jean Luc, because the Cardasian Madred says so; and there are X votes for Biden, because the Secretary of State says so.

But are there five fingers, five lights, X votes for Biden? Or are those all lies and your slam-dunk winning argument merely another iteration of the Appeal to Authority logical fallacy?

If you weren’t a Liberal committed to worshiping The Narrative, you’d be able to seek the Objective Truth instead of the Party’s Truth. For example, Judy Presto of Southpark, Pennsylvania died in 2013 but someone cast a ballot in her name during the 2020 election and that vote was included in the total certified by the Secretary of State. By The Party’s Truth, that’s a vote for Biden and it’s good enough for you. But for thinking people, that’s a fraudulent ballot which is not a vote for Biden, it’s proof of Democrat dishonesty.

How many other dead people voted? How many felons, how many illegal aliens, how many voters who had moved, indefinitely confined persons, mental incompetents, not to mention ‘absentee’ ballots that had never been folded and ballots produced in the middle of the night when election observers were not present to challenge them? Nobody knows.

Which is why the answer to your question is: “Cannot be determined from the information presented.”

  43. 👆You and Swiftee remind me of the Japanese soldiers who went and hid in caves after WWII — in denial to the end….
