Berg’s 16th Law exists for a reason. While a prominent elected Democrat can beat the snot out of his girlfriend with impunity, anything rash, impudent, ill-timed, context-mangled or yes, stupid, said by any Republican, anywhere, no matter how fringe, how isolated from power or the mainstream (which doesn’t describe Lindell, obviously), will be reported to the widest audience possible, in the least flattering context that can be engineered, and held against the entire part.

Love the pillows, Mike – but think.

  3. Mitch: You wonder if Trump crossing the Rubicon is the right thing to do. My opinion is that it’s what he is legally and oath bound to do. This election has been a coup by those opposed to Trump. If he doesn’t cross it, the Constitution he swore to protect and defend is gone (if it isn’t already).

    I think he’s watching to see what happens in the courts and Congress. I think he didn’t fully appreciate the depth of rot, and keeps getting pushed closer and closer to crossing. I think that if he doesn’t, the violence that happens will be exponentially worse than if he did.

Trump and his top sycophant side kick with these fantasies, say its Flynn, they know this.  And thus, there will be no order for Martial Law.

    Joe Biden is going to be President, and there will be no riots etc.

    That is an admission that any such prosecution would be political, e.g., would be pursued to achieve a political goal, not a law enforcement goal.

Trump getting prosecuted is a desire of the very progressive online left, and it’s a feature of their literal socialist revolution fantasies where they wish for show trials and reconciliation tribunals.  Online left is loud, but not as powerful as people think.  The show trial fantasy is not something that exists so much for institutional Democrats like Joe Biden, and you’re not going to get a radical AG that would pursue it.

    Trump was a dishonest businessman who filed fraudulent taxes probably every year for a period of decades.  It’s going to be a heavy lift for the judiciary to open that up and prosecute it successfully, as will be any claim of monetary self dealing Trump might have committed during his term.  Maybe they’ll be a settlement as a result of the audit process, but he’s not being prosecuted, it’s too difficult and provocative, and Joe Biden isn’t interested.

    We’re moving on, as we should.

    So why is Trump himself considering pre-emotive pardons for himself and his family?

    When Trump pardons people pre-emptively, he’s essentially telling the public that these people have committed crimes. We may not be aware of what they are, but the pardon is clear evidence that crimes have been committed.

    If American citizens are forced to take to the streets to take back the nation, they won’t be marching. They won’t be wearing uniforms. They won’t be driving in a convoy or saluting or following rules of war. A lot of us learned the lessons from Vietnam, the Gulf Wars and from Afghanistan. This time, the shoe will be on the other foot. We will be the insurgents battling the big green machine.

    You thought Fallujah was bad. Those guys couldn’t strike at our soldiers’ homes, their wives and kids. Those guys couldn’t strike at our local politicans, sheriffs, chiefs of police. Those guys couldn’t institute roving roadblocks to randomly harass travelers and hijack food trucks. And don’t even get me started on IEDs and sniping. Anybody who hunts deer from a tree stand already has the weapon and understands the principles of being a sniper; now it’s just a matter of selecting the target.

    Look, there are only about 2 million US troops, active and reserve. At least 25% of them are admin pogues, JAG officers and Puzzle Palace paperpushers who won’t be humping an M4 through Minneapolis. Assuming the US military can field 1.5 million trigger pullers, you’ll only be outgunned 10 to 1. Oh, perhaps you didn’t know – last year, there were 15 million hunting licenses issued in this country, every one of them by definition willing and able to pull the trigger. Even if 90% of all hunters sit out the fight, that still leaves you in a one-on-one fight with an insurgent enemy. And I’m willing to bet a bunch of your 1.5 million troops will lose their enthusiasm for killing Americans right quickly, partricularly if doing so puts their own families at risk.

    Sure, the government has jets and helicopters and tanks and machine guns. They had all that in Afghanistan, too. So did the Russians. Fat lot of good it did them.

    Best of all, we look like you, like the Lieutenants commanding the troops, like the politicians giving marching orders. We dress like you, talk like you, eat the same food and know who lost the football game on Sunday. We’re used to living in Liberal dominated society where we nod and smile and keep our opinions to ourselves. We work in every sector of government, of industry, and particularly in heavy trades and farming. You’ll never find all the spies and saboteurs. The more you tighten your grip, the more innocents will be harmed, the more rebels you create.

    THAT is why miltary professionals are lying awake at night, hoping to God the President doesn’t have to order the military to help us preserve the union.   38. JD: Yes, 4GW is going to be messy. However, the scenario you laid out appears to be a Biden martial law (Scenario A). If Trump does something (Scenario B), it’s going to be tied to his 2018 EO. It won’t be all the military, more likely JSOC units going out to arrest folks for election fraud, and tribunals. State National Guard federalized for riot control, with different ROE than when activated by the Governor. There will be riots, and there will be burning.

    There will be blood in both scenarios. A will be bloodier than B. If, through levels of stupidity never before seen, Joe invites in the UN to help out (Scenario A Minus), it will go from bloody to oceans of blood. In Scenario B, the military is there to uphold the rule of law. And it will be lawful per the Constitution.

    I don’t think Trump will declare martial law either. But not because it’s not warranted, but because he can see people have not reached the line yet. Everyone knows we have witnessed a bold theft of our election, but decent, working people still think there’s more to lose than gain..kind of like intellectually superior people that put diapers on their faces to buy some bread.

    But I’m not quite sure Sniffin’ Joe will take the prize yet. Every time a US court refuses to hear a fraud case on a technicality, despite plenty of evidence, more people realize there is no law. When enough people realize their homes, jobs and family security rests on a house of cards no more secure than an Iranian court, things could very easily get nasty.

    We’re in a cold civil war right now. At this point, all it would take is one group to take a stand, and the avalanche will roll. Maybe it will happen after people are arrested for violating Sniffin’ Joe’s promised mask mandate…I really believe we are that close.
