The Minnesota Stasi

The state is going after Senator, and Doctor, Scott Jensen, for…

…well, counterrevolutionary activity, apparently:

Minnesota senator and medical physician Dr. Scott Jensen says he is under investigation by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice for allegedly spreading misinformation about COVID-19.

Jensen revealed the investigation in a Facebook video on Sunday, saying the medical board is focusing on “reckless advice” he had given by comparing COVID-19 with the flu, as well as comments he made regarding CDC guidelines for the completion of death certificates in an interview with Fargo news broadcaster Chris Berg in April – which went viral.

“When I got this news, I was ticked,” Jensen, who is rumored to be considering a run for Minnesota governor as a Republican, said in the video, which has now been viewed one million times.

“If this could happen to me because of my views, it could happen to b ‘=, anybody,” he added.

Let’s sure we’ve got this straight;  the state’s bureaucracy is actively moving to squelch a prominent dissenter to Governor Walz’s incompetent, logrolling response to the pandemic.

  1. “If this could happen to me because of my views, it could happen to anybody,” ~ Senator/ Dr Scott Jensen

Pretty sure it could only happen to a physician, not “anybody” as Senator/Dr Jensen suggests. Physicians should be precise with their words. He should have held himself to a higher standard.

  2. No surprise. Scott Johnson has been blocked from the daily press briefings since early on because he kept asking tough questions.

A historical note: back in 1415, Czech Jan Hus was at the forefront of the Bohemian Reformation (100 years ahead of Martin Luther), pushing for “sola scriptura” doctrine based on what was actually in the Bible. This was anathema to the Catholic Church and the Holy Roman Empire. He was invited by the Church to the Council of Constanze to defend his theology. “Why? You’ll just kill me,” was his response. Assured of safe-conduct by King Sigismund, Hus agreed to attend. When confronted and told to recant, he replied, “Gladly, if you’ll just show me where in scripture I am wrong.”

They couldn’t, but burned him anyway. When Sigismund protested because of his promise, the Church assured him that, “Promises to heretics are non-binding.” The ensuing “civil unrest” in Prague led to the defenestration of several members of the City Council and sparked the Hussite Wars, which lead to 200 years of religious independence for Bohemia.

    The times, they ain’t a-changin’.

  3. Might have known that our resident Karen, Emery., would be railing against a truth teller. Just as an FYI, you idiot, many doctors across the country have railed against the CDC’s WRITTEN missive to falsify death certificates, which is illegal in all 50 states. Put your mask back on and go back down into your mommy’s basement.

Hydroxychloroquine lowers COVID-19 death rate, Henry Ford Health study finds

A Henry Ford Health System study shows the controversial anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine helps lower the death rate of COVID-19 patients, the Detroit-based health system said Thursday.

Officials with the Michigan health system said the study found the drug “significantly” decreased the death rate of patients involved in the analysis.

The study analyzed 2,541 patients hospitalized among the system’s six hospitals between March 10 and May 2 and found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine died while 26% of those who did not receive the drug died.

The leftist sock puppets can “investigate” the doc all they want. But if any of them have have ever made a disparaging remark regarding hydroxychloroquine (chances reach 100%, no doubt), I’d drag them through the streets by their pointed ears if I was he. They better tread lightly.

  5. Physicians should be precise with their words. He should have held himself to a higher standard.

Good to see Emery’s got his talking points for today. How dare a medical doctor compare a respiratory illness to another respiratory illness!

  6. Hydroxychloroquine Knocked Again: WHO Shuts Down Trials For It, HIV Drug As Coronavirus Treatments

The two drugs “produced little or no reduction” in mortality rates for Covid-19 patients, the WHO’s statement read, and that the trial’s international steering committee recommended it discontinue the trials for the drugs.

  7. Citing CNN, WHO and other 3-letter acronyms is all they got. Word “truth” has 5 letters (well, technically 4, one is repeated). They cannot count that high.

  8. “We’re not going to really be able to crush this virus at this point because there’s just so much infection around. We really don’t seem to have the political will to do it. “

    Hydroxychloroquine In treating Covid patients:
“I don’t think anyone should be using it right now pending results of another study that might demonstrate there is in fact a benefit.”

  9. Regarding the claims, I personally disagreed with Dr. Jensen when he compared the ordinary flu to COVID–it was a comparison of epidemics which had run their course vs. epidemics just getting started. Unless we are to expect all doctors to be expert epidemiological modelers, however, that is in my view forgivable.

In the second case, it is indeed troubling that some of the death certificates being signed for COVID counts appear to be using fairly low criteria for establishing whether a death is “due to COVID”, even granting the reality that the best predictors for COVID-related death are age and metabolic syndrome. OK, was it because he was 85/obese/diabetic, or was it because of COVID? Do we attribute 100% of the death to COVID even though his median lifespan in the nursing home is 2-3 years to begin with? Or 1/3 of his death?

It will be a mercy if we learn a bit about how to count disease deaths from this whole debacle, but I am not holding my breath on it.

  10. Bubba, the only reason St. Floyd cause of death was not recorded as Wuhan flu is because he was in the process of being canonized, ie not politically expedient. For all the rest… Wuhan flu or bust.

  11. “What we think was important in ours … is that patients were treated early. For hydroxychloroquine to have a benefit, it needs to begin before the patients begin to suffer some of the severe immune reactions that patients can have with COVID.”

In other words, leftist reprobates want to deny effective treatment (50% higher survival rate vs control) for Wuhan flu when caught early enough. Anything, including killing people, to “prove” orange man bad.

  12. “I don’t think anyone should be using it right now pending results of another study that might demonstrate there is in fact a benefit.”

Oh, like the one I just posted? Pffft. You incredible moron. It’s gone way past the point of pulling the wings off flies with E. Dimwit Esq.

For our intelligent readers, here’s some more info on the study:

The study was published today in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, the peer-reviewed, open-access online publication of the International Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID.org).

“The findings have been highly analyzed and peer-reviewed,” said Dr. Marcus Zervos, division head of Infectious Disease for Henry Ford Health System, who co-authored the study with Henry Ford epidemiologist Dr. Samia Arshad. “We attribute our findings that differ from other studies to early treatment, and part of a combination of interventions that were done in supportive care of patients, including careful cardiac monitoring. Our dosing also differed from other studies not showing a benefit of the drug. And other studies are either not peer reviewed, have limited numbers of patients, different patient populations or other differences from our patients.”

Meanwhile, the puppets at WHO (a wholly owned subsidiary of the CCP) have cited, nothing, zero, nada in support of their propaganda. They are in the business of keeping low IQ, leftist slobs whipped up.

  13. “…pending results of another study that might demonstrate there is in fact a benefit.”

  15. Well then, Emery the Ignorant, you better not vote for Amy “Vanilla Fluff” Klobuchar, because she admitted that her husband’s doctor gave it to him and probably saved his life. Another Democrat in Michigan, credits President Trump’s highlighting the drug with saving the lives of her and her husband. Are you sure you don’t work for the Red Star or one of the lame stream media? You are just Mr. Doom and Gloom, because you can’t admit anything good happening. Like I said earlier. Stay inside and follow Kim Jung Walz’s edicts to wear your mask.

  25. The headline is not hyperbole. Use of government agencies to suppress freedom of speech is the trademark of a totalitarian regime. No, the Walz administration is not the first. As Emery might say in a more lucid moment, we expect the government to hold itself to a higher standard.

  26. Doc, indeed, the headline is not only not a hyperbole, but a very apt simile. Fact progressives cannot grasp what they are advocating, cheering and doing is fascism and despotism and a complete anathema to freedom is quite telling of how braindead, brainwashed and devoid of free will they are.

  27. If any of his comments improperly mixed the political with the medical, he should face discipline from the Board of Medical Practice.

I suspect we are not hearing the entire story here from Jensen, and since those investigating can’t tell us, we will have to wait.

  28. Physicians should be precise with their words. He should have held himself to a higher standard.
The bullshit is strong with this one. Doctors aren’t priests. They have neither to believe nor enforce dogma to practice.

  29. I suspect we are not hearing the entire story here from Jensen, and since those investigating can’t tell us, we will have to wait.
Like with the Derek Chauvin trial?

  30. I heard an interview with Niall Ferguson this morning. He is quite suspicious of the Chinese. He says that they have used their buck to occupy controlling positions in many international institutions. For example, says Ferguson, The Chinese control the international organization that tracks worldwide passenger traffic. In late 2019, how many people flew from Wuhan to locations around the world? It’ll take them until 2021 to collect that data, sorry.

  31. My oh my oh my… What other calamity will the progressives dream up?

The United States now has so few deaths due to COVID-19 that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday it is approaching the threshold for dipping below the level of an epidemic. The CDC defines an epidemic as an outbreak from which the number of deaths per week exceeds a given percentage of total deaths within the nation. The number of deaths from COVID-19 has steadily declined since hitting its peak in early May after it began spiking in the second week in March.

  32. Mamm, earlier reports, before then-current mayor of Wuhan was sacked, put the number of people who left Wuhan to parts unknown at around 5,000,000.

  33. I should point out, to be fair, that the Board of Medical Practice is obligated to investigate complaints against physicians, no matter how absurd. In my experience, I’ve never heard of a physician being investigated for “spreading false information.” Generally the complaints concern malpractice, sexual abuse, or attempting things out of the scope of one’s practice. Since Dr Jensen is also a State Senator, it’s appropriate for him to make political comments outside of his medical practice. If he were subjecting his patients to lectures about his political beliefs, that would be a problem.

  34. doc, is it an obligation to investigate *any* complaint? Because if it is, and if the investigators are themselves MD’s they had, as I say, have a care in how they comport themselves here.

There are no areas in life that are sacrosanct of politics in the current year. It is frightening to know that a doctor’s questions may be used to restrict someone’s constitutional rights, but it seems that is the goal of questions related to firearm ownership.

Likewise, many doctors have made statements regarding the effectiveness of drugs in mitigating deaths due to bat flu, and given the lack of reliable studies at the time, it appears those statements were occasioned by the physicians hatred of Drumpf.

What’s good for the goose is good for the reprobate. Let the investigators be investigated.

  35. Fauci says that he knowingly lied about the effectiveness of masks in spreading the Wuhan flu. Let the investigation begin.

  36. Just follow the money! Just look at how much Medicare pays for corona virus related hospitalizations, with $13,000 for a patient put on a ventilator. How many deaths can be attributed to that? Videos have shown up from doctors and nurses alleging that people were being put on ventilators and left to die, virtually unattended? How much of the hysteria that the media, quack Fauci and morons like Emery perpetuated daily, affected the medical profession? How many of those medical professionals that the lame stream media kept interviewing predicting doom and gloom, were fueling the panic? Funny that I don’t recall this level of hysteria over the Hong Kong flu, which was around during Woodstock, the swine flu, HIV or ebola. Is Fauci and the CDC guilty of illegally funding the Wuhan lab? Fauci is tied to the WHO, Bill Gates and Gilead and has suppressed the findings of researchers more knowledgeable than him. Why aren’t the people that are taking HCQ for malaria and lupus reporting heart issues from it? I know three people with lupus that are taking it and they tell me that it has never been a concern. Further, according to veteran friends of mine, it was being passed out to service members in tropical areas, were receiving it as an anti malarial for decades. Is the vilification due to the fact that the patents have expired on HCQ, so the cost per dose, even with antibiotics, is less than $25 per dose and Remdesivir is about $3,120 per patient, yet it can, according to Gilead, be made for about $30 per dose? Who is profiting? And both of them have to be introduced early stages of the infection, yet people in advanced stages of the infection have been saved by HCQ. Follow the money!

  37. In the early going of bat flu, Drumpf was stuck with Fauchi for purely political reasons.

It’s Fauchi took full advantage, but his 15 minutes are up. Fauchi has earned a position more accommodating to his talents…Drumpf should reassign him to assist PZ Meyers investigations into what happens when zebra fish embryos are gestitated in varying concentrations of ethyl alcohol.

Or maybe they can amuse themselves of the equally important science of tearing a single wing off flies and observing their antics.

  38. Pinochet: Yes, it’s true that any and every complaint must be investigated. What I cannot tell about this one is if a patient of Dr Jensen made it or someone else. Someone else meaning the Mother of all Karens. The Board itself doesn’t initiate investigations. Not supposed to anyway. Privacy laws will shield us from learning but Dr Jensen has a right to learn the identity of his accuser.

  39. I cannot tell

How many deaths can be attributed to that?

And how about kids missing vaccine shot appointments? Increased suicide rates? Death by reduction of “elective” surgeries?

If only there were journalist who would care to ask the right questions.

  40. Tom Hauser of KSTP comes closest. He did a piece on the cold storage facility purchased by the state for the 5000 bodies that were supposed to be piling up starting next week. A very mild story, by the way, one surely to be evaded by Gov (fill the sandbags) Walz.

  41. doc, a quick thinker might re-purpose that cold storage center to house the mob of drug addicted bums that have descended upon the parks and paths of the Twin Cities.

Those thousands of unused ventilators!, ventilators!, ventilators!, could easily be rigged to accommodate huffing glue, and hand sanitizer is 70% ethanol, which any bum worthy of the name would find very tasty indeed. Pipe in some pawdy music and the scene would be quite festive.

Let’s make lemonade out of reprobate lemons!

Why do I have to do all the thinking around here?
