  1. The Bernie who thought George McGovern was too moderate so he had to support Dr. Spock was rearing it’s head last night.

But will all the young ones that support him even care to learn about any of this? Will it change their minds?

  2. Biden is a babbling fool. A malady I believe is clinically referred to as Emery Syndrome.

  3. Biden’s candidacy has shown the truth of the saw that Biden was Obama’s life insurance policy.

  4. Can’t wait for 6 pm! *

“Healthy young child goes to doctor, gets pumped with massive shot of many vaccines, doesn’t feel good and changes – AUTISM. Many such cases!” ~ Donald J Trump (Twitter 2014)

    * “I will be having a News Conference at the White House, on this subject, today at 6:00 P.M. CDC representatives, and others, will be there. Thank you!” ~ Donald J Trump

At a time like this it would be nice to have a president who isn’t a pathological liar.

When you lie about literally everything, fire all the competent people in the government, and stop having White House daily briefings because you can’t deal honestly with tough questions from the press, don’t be surprised that when you need to deal with a major crisis, you have zero credibility.

  5. Hey Emery;

If I had a bunch of haters and traitors leaking everything that happened at my business, I’d get rid of them, too.

Funny that Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the fearmongering liar for the CDC, is another anti Trumper, is the sister of deep state disgraced AG Rod Rosenstein. She should be fired, too, with extreme prejudice! Can you spell vendetta?

  6. The problem with the president speaking up now is that no matter what he says — from expecting the worst pandemic the world has ever seen to the best administration response to what is really no health issue at all — who is going to believe him?

When Nancy Messonnier speaks, I will believe her. But Trump has proven that he never tells the truth. Why should he change now?

Anything coming from Trump and his administration I will totally disregard as propaganda meant to salvage Trump’s reelection campaign and the failing stock market. Nothing more. Nothing less.

  7. who is going to believe him?

    From the link
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds Trump earning 50% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Sanders’ 43%. Seven percent (7%) are undecided.

    and this
Trump is more popular than Obama was at this point of his presidency, and Obama won. Pretty easily.

    Who indeed?

  8. “The president’s budget request for the fiscal year that begins in October would slash the CDC’s budget by almost 16% and the Health and Human Services Department’s by almost 10%. Tens of millions of dollars would come from the department’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response and its Hospital Preparedness Program, which helps hospitals handle surges of patients during disease outbreaks.”
    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/24/us/politics/trump-coronavirus-response.amp.html

I’m sure it seemed like a great idea at the time.

  9. @ Night Writer: Don’t worry. Trump has his magic sharpie ready

Oh, I never worry, Em. Even when there’s the possibility that if Biden wins, the nuclear football (that was the subject of this post, you may recall, even if you don’t care) will end up in Hillary’s bathroom with her server.

  10. “When Nancy Messonnier speaks, I will believe her. But Trump has proven that he never tells the truth. Why should he change now?”

Ha! Then you subsequently quote an article from the NY Slimes. ANYTHING coming from them, needs to be triple verified for accuracy.

Of course, you gullible lefties wouldn’t recognize the truth if it kicked you in the ass and Emery, you have got to be the most gullible useful idiot ever! Well, I take that back. Bernie Bros might be more gullible than you.

  11. I expect Adam Schiff will add spread of Corona virus to the articles of Impeachment v.2020 and v.2021. I can sum up the consensus of MSM pundits in three words: Orange Man Bad. Much of the hullaballoo published in medical updates amounts to rearranging the chairs on the Titanic, although I hasten to add, this is not going to be a zombie apocalypse. Doctors like to do things and make recommendations, often with no proof. Recall that the 1918 influenza pandemic circled the globe without the assistance of air travel. Recall also the media-fed hysteria about SARS, HIV, H1N1 influenza, Ebola etc etc. My suggestion is to eliminate all TV at midnight through 7AM. Get a good night’s sleep. Encourage media people to train for new careers. Use hand sanitizer where offered and stay home if you’re sick.

  12. I heard from the latest winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom that the coronavirus was a just a plot to undermine Trump and is no worse than the common cold.

Given such a reliable source, I would ask all true American Patriots and supporters of Trump to immediately expose themselves to the coronavirus in order to unmask this evil conspiracy against our President while simultaneously “owning the libs”.

    Make America Great Again!

  13. It’s true, Obama set up an emergency response system for pandemics after Ebola. It could be crucial now. Self described “stable genius” Trump cut it.

  14. Emery, I could concede your thought that Trump is unmatched as a liar–though of course (Clinton, Obama) he’s really not–and still come to the conclusion that Biden poses a special threat. The reason I say that is that Biden has had a number of “oopsies” that suggest very strongly that “senior moments” are coming in, while Trump’s thinking remains pretty clear.

  15. “When you lie…and fire all the competent people in the government…”. What competent people? Good luck.

  16. “who is going to believe him?”

    Lol

What gave you the idea anyone gives a shit what low IQ assholes like you believe, or don’t believe, Dunning_Kruger?

  17. Well, I guess at least one person is successfully trolled by Trump.
The liberal friends I have on Facebook all began to repeat the same thing today — Trump is responsible for the inability of the US to contain coronavirus. It is a concerted campaign, obviously.
Not a single person in the US has died of coronavirus.
    Nope. Not one.

  18. And if anyone in the US dies of coronavirus, the population hardest hit will likely be those living in concentrated groups without sanitation in our major cities.

  19. Trump says there are only 15 cases of Coronavirus in the USA. The CDC says there are at least 60. Why does he keep lying?

  20. lets not forget that whatever the Coronavirus does its nothing compared to the mass slaughter of 150 million of Americans by gun violence since 2007. I mean Joe Biden said that on the debate stage and no one corrected him so it has to be true right? Its not like he’s insane or senile or anything, you’d have to be a Nazi or fascist to suggest that.

    https://www.newsweek.com/biden-says-over-150-million-americans-killed-gun-violence-since-2007-which-would-third-us-1489115

  21. ^^ Before the Coors shooter started shooting he was a good guy with a gun. Then he had a bad day and became a bad guy with a gun.

But he killed himself — so was he stopped by a good guy with a gun or was he still a bad guy with a gun?

  22. Emery, precisely which mass shooters can you think of who simply “had a bad day”? You’ve got people with longstanding issues with mental health, some people who wanted jihad, and yet others who had longstanding criminal issues. Many of them should have been, but were not, flagged by the government.

Now given that a key issue in these kind of crimes/atrocities is “government didn’t do its job despite having the information they needed”, precisely what additional government interference do you think would have prevented the problem?

Regarding 15 vs. 60 cases, perhaps we might differentiate based on those which may have originated on our shores? Really, we’re talking about epidemic numbers where only the super sick are getting tested–to quibble over this is a clear sign of “being addicted to chicken manure” arguments.

  23. Really, we’re talking about epidemic numbers where only the super sick are getting tested–to quibble over this is a clear sign of “being addicted to chicken manure” arguments.

It’s a clear sign that there are those who are hoping for a big body count so it can be blamed on Trump. Truly, there is a sickness here, and it is contagious.

    And then there’s the coronavirus.

  24. also sidenote if you look at the number of cases vs. deaths (and admittedly taking the numbers with a huge grain of salt given that the commies are reporting the vast majority of them) that the death rates is hovering between 2-5%. Around the same rate of the flu virus every year. People are panicking in the markets because… well after this long of a positive run there was due to be a bit of a correction and we are still in a very strong economy. Call me optimistic but I was massively more concerned back when Ebola was spreading in Africa 6-7 years ago.

  25. ^^ Lots of comments from non-epidemiologists about how Covid-19 is not that serious. I can only imagine that their portfolios are chock-full of equities.

If you want to keep up with outbreak updates, follow and subscribe to @statnews. I’m indefinitely indebted to their reporting.

  26. Well Emery you are a leftist so your default is to panic about every goddamn thing. How’s the spread of heterosexual AIDS going? Werent we warned that that was inevitable?

  27. The entire planet is going into maximal protection mode. Leaders from across the globe are calling it for what it is, an emerging pandemic. And what does our fearless leader do? He says, don’t worry. We have it covered. The media is overhyping it.

His designated American hero, Rush Limbaugh, claims it’s a weaponized cold virus created to take down Trump. The Trump lie machine is in full force. It’s all politics. It’s all about Trump.

No it isn’t. It’s a virus that is rapidly spreading around the globe. Viruses don’t respond to lies. They just spread and infect people. Once a highly contagious microbe gets introduced into the human population, its stays there and keeps infecting people, year after year, until it is eradicated with a vaccine, which requires global immunizations.

Trump sees the stock markets tanking. That worries him because a high market is his ticket to re-election. So he puts his top sycophant, Mike Pence, in charge.

What does Mike Pence know about epidemiology? People go to school for that, and for many years.

Trump has turned this outbreak into political theater because that’s all he is, a theater of lies. Tell that to the virus and see how far you get.

  28. “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is something that goes back to Charles Krauthammer’s “Bush Derangement Syndrome,” a fake diagnosis he created to mock people who thought we shouldn’t go to war with Iraq.

  29. Tell me Emery, werent you convinced by now that the Mueller Report would cause Trump to be led out of the White House in handcuffs, werent you saying that for YEARS until it turned out to be a dud?

  30. To be fair, I can’t think of a single administration under which I’d trust the White House to filter CDC/NIH information about a pandemic. But this time is particularly bad to a dark humor extent.

  31. Trump Derangement Syndrome is a term that accurately describes people who believe that Trump colluded with Putin to throw the 2016 election (not a single vote can be shown to have been changed or not cast due to Russian influence in the 2016 election), or who believe that Trump is responsible for a non-existent coronavirus epidemic in the US.
The TDS crowd currently includes the Speaker of the House, every single Democrat candidate for president, and most of our “non-partisan” journalists.

  32. MP most of the #NeverTrump crowd too. Joe Walsh said he’d vote for Bernie instead of Tump because its better to have a socialist as President than the guy he finds morally and ethically abhorrant. But he’s still a conservative apparently? Im guessing he loved Jeb! probably in the primaries.

  33. If Trump’s ‘lies’ give yoy the vapors, but you don’t care about the immigration fraud of Ilhan Omar, you suffer from BDS.

  34. I don’t understand why Emery is obsessed by All Of Trump’s Lies! I mean, Emery lies constantly. His every comment here involves a lie – especially if a lie includes shading the truth, exaggeration, leaving out context, neglecting to include info, and just making s**t up.

And Emery is utterly shameless about his lying, as in without shame. I corrected – nay, exposed – one of his lies yesterday; nothing, no response, just a subject change into something else as if the lie and correction never occurred.

  35. JDM, those in Emerys position believe they have the moral high ground and that the President in unworthy and a loser because he is not one of them. They are so isolated and live in a echo chamber so much that they truly believe Trump will only be a one term president. They are a cult and Im actually almost half expecting some type of mass suicide on election night because that is how messed up in the head they are.

  36. Regarding people who send incompetent people to do important jobs….um, Obama and Sanders voters? Just sayin’. Plus, you’ve got someone who put Hilliary in the State Department and sent Biden to Ukraine and China, and gave away the store to the Iranians.

But no, we’ve got to accuse a guy who’s presided over a strong economy, who’s remaking the judiciary as conservative, and who’s inducing the nutcases of the world to back off in terms of terrorism….because a virus in China, the world’s most populous country, has killed about 3000 people, which is about 8% of how many people die in the United States alone from influenza each year.

Come on, Emery, get some perspective here.

  37. Perspective is the first victim of TDS.
Even with the current downturn, the Dow is ten thousand points higher then it was on election day, 2016. Unemployment and interest rates are at or near record lows. We have no new wars, and existing wars are winding down.
There was no “Russian collusion.” The Russian activity in the 2016 election cannot be shown to have changed a single vote, much less “awarded the presidency to Trump.”
The bad actors exposed by the Burisma scandal are prominent relatives of Democrats.
Not a single American has died of coronavirus.

  38. As a recovering pessimist, I always enjoy reading Woolly. However gloomy I may be, it is cheers me up no end to find that there is someone in the world even more miserable than I am.

This market was 20% inflated at the start of 2020 just based on irrational exuberance and constant money printing from the Fed. Look at the historical chart of the market over the last 10 years. That trend of growth is simply not sustainable. The market was a powder keg waiting to explode and the coronavirus is the match that was thrown at it.

The dominant impact of rising viral infections is to unsettle the comfort underlying today’s public opinion. A rising rate of infection guarantees an increasing variability in public opinion. Where an unsettled public comes down in next November’s election will be increasingly hard to predict.

The middle of public opinion might become more important and mobilizing the base less so. Where goes the middle?

Relevance of proposed policies might become more important than applied ignorance and talk show propaganda. The American public might go back towards its traditional posture of supporting expert advice.

Slowing growth abroad resulting in slowing growth in the US would provide a convincing lesson that the US lives in an interconnected and mutually dependent world. Blowing up the bridges might not seem like such a good idea.

It is easy to imagine Donald Trump winding up on the wrong side of a major shift in American public opinion as attitudes shift under the pressure of the stress of events. Throw in a couple hurricanes and The Donald will look like King Canute trying to order back the incoming tide.

  39. So, the Democrats best hope for the presidency rests upon catastrophes and the deaths of thousands of people. One might even describe these types of events as “Acts of God”, so Dems are embracing old-time religion.
