Fet Ish

British “socialist dominatrix” claims to turn “white, right wing” men into socialists.

For many of her clientele, who are almost exclusively white right-wing men because she finds herself unable “to be even fictionally cruel to any other type of man,”

Of course they are, and of course she does.

that fetish is serving a powerful woman. Maybury derives her pleasure comes from forcing those men to see the contradiction between their love of powerful women and their support for political parties that actively work to limit women’s rights and empowerment. In her book, Dining with Humpty Dumpty, she detailed conversations with a man she said exhibited the “disgusting contradiction” of claiming to be both “a ‘female supremacist’ and a Tory.’”

A cursory Google search of Ms. Maybury shows no indication that she’s actually successfully “converted” anyone, but that she is the sort of D-list pseudo-academic (but increasingly, academic) “celebrity” that does pop up on NPR “arts and culture” programming often enough to get talked about…

…and this post would indicate it worked.

Some of my “progressive” friends over the weekend were chortling over this one, naturally, the way they usually do over this sort of pseudo-story.

My first reaction:  it says more about the nature of socialist men than about “right wing white” guys; they make Pajama Boy look like Chuck Norris.

The second?   This is such a complement to Berg’s Seventh Law that I am inaugurating a new one:  The Maybury Corollary to Berg’s Seventh Law.  To wit:  When a “progressive” makes a mocking or defamatory pronoucement about the deviance, depravity, deceit, dissipation or lack of a conservative’s sexuality, it is invariably a combination of their own insecurities and what they desperately want to believe about those who believe differently than them.

Progs want to believe that all it takes to convert a conservative male into a socialist…er, being is a little highly-stylized pseudo-sex from a modern pseudo-academic phrenologist.

And perception is reality, among the “evidence-based” set.

But it’s called Berg’s Law for a reason.

  1. I just threw up in my soul a little. Other than a literal gun to my head I cant think of anything that would make me socialsist. Hell even that I’d probably just say pull the trigger.

  2. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m thinking that most if not all of it was made up. I mean, why worry? Who’s gonna check? Leftists who nod knowingly? Because the whole story conforms to what leftists think about the right – for exactly the reasons given by our host and his 7th Law.

Besides, she’s not good looking enough to change opinions.

  3. I’m eagerly awaiting The Revolution because that’s when my brilliance finally will be recognized. I’ll be promoted and you lot will be summarily executed and all your stuff given to me. Socialist, Capitalist, Zombie, the specific ideology doesn’t matter so long as I’m suitably rewarded.

Sadly, based on historical examples, that’s unlikely to happen. I’m far more likely to be declared an Enemy of the People and consigned to serving as fertilizer in the communal farm right alongside you.

As for unattractive bossy women hectoring me, I have them at work and in diversity class and on television already. Why would I pay for it?

  4. Other than a literal gun to my head I cant think of anything that would make me socialsist.

Well, that has been one of the big motivators in communist utopian “paradises”. I think the main difference between socialists and communists is that the socialists don’t put the gun to your head right away.

  5. These sex- and genitalia-obsessed types on the left are amusing to watch. Ms. Maybury has a lot in common with the leftists who state they won’t have meaningless sexual encounters with Republicans/conservatives/Trump supporters: They think they’re punishing us, even as we point and laugh.

I slogged through the Guardian article. It was about what I expected. Still, I feel some measure of pity for Ms. Maybury, as it seems she has yet to meet a “right-wing white man” who doesn’t fit her caricature. Many of us don’t care to or have time to dominate women as part of some power play, as we’re spending time away from our family every day to provide for its wants and needs.

    Then there’s this little gem.

There seem to quite a few people on the Left exhibiting a common psychological trait: They. Can’t. Turn. It. Off. Not even for a day, a few hours, or a few minutes. They un-friend/block people on social media, alienate co-workers and friends, and make everybody dread inviting them to social functions. They’re unwilling to see political difference as a difference of opinion. If you think the “wrong” way, you must be either converted or cast out. It says a lot more about their own insecurities regarding their beliefs that they try so hard to impose, either through force or self-exclusion, a uniform world-view.

Reverse Republican and leftist and you just described my 20s. Leftists and SJW millenial women are beyond easy lays. To the point it honestly gets boring, no joke.

  7. How’s she going to turn real men in to socialists? Maybe castrate them? Aren’t there laws against that if you don’t have a medical license and such?

  8. How’s she going to turn real men in to socialists?

Real men dont become socialists BB, socialism is for the sissy and weak. Just look at the loser Bernie Bros.

  9. Ian, lack of imagination and rigid thinking is the doom of the Left. They cannot imagine that we humans killed God two thousand years ago. Yet they think that it is meaningful to say that the first red dwarf stars will exist for another ten trillion years, 100,000 times as long as the ten billion or so years that the universe has existed.
